Nutritional Counseling for All Patients
Diet and nutrition can have a big impact on health, energy, and immune function. People who eat right, consuming the right mix of vitamins, nutrients, protein and healthy fats can avoid illnesses and diseases. Because the focus of chiropractic care is to find natural ways to improve patient’s health and wellness, nutrition counseling and chiropractic care go hand in hand. At our clinic, we help patients eat healthy meals and maintain a healthy diet.
What to Expect from Nutrition Counseling?
During your first nutrition counseling session, your chiropractor will ask you about your dietary habits and special nutritional needs. Vegetarian patients, vegan patients and patients with food allergies may disclose these special dietary requirements at this time. Your nutrition expert will also ask questions about your usual level of physical activity, existing medical conditions and other health questions. The answers to these questions will help your nutrition expert devise a nutritional plan that meets your needs. Together, you and your nutrition expert will establish goals that will help improve your overall health and physical functioning.
Who Benefits from Nutritional Counseling?
Everyone can benefit from nutritional counseling! In particular, people with the following conditions and needs will benefit from our nutritional counseling sessions:
- Chronic conditions
- Heart disease
- Gastrointestinal conditions
- Eating disorders
When to Seek Nutritional Counseling
Nutritional counseling is a standard part of many chiropractic plans for patients suffering from long-term and chronic conditions. In addition, patients seeking preventative care can benefit from nutritional counseling, because good dietary habits can help patients stay healthy, build up their immune system and avoid illness. The best time to seek nutrition counseling is as soon as you’ve made the decision to improve your health and physical functioning, regardless of the circumstances.
